One More Month...

One more month, I'll be back to the Land of Kangaroo again...

This year is going to be my final year in Perth if I plan to come back to Miri for career. I don't know whether I should be happy or not. When I'm back in Miri, I miss the life in Perth. When I go back to Perth, I miss Miri. What do I want?

The first time when I was going to Perth in 2004, I was quite happy and excited at the same time. I thought I can at least get the freedom I have long for.

However, it's not the case. I missed home a lot. I started to count the days on the calendar. "When can I go back to Miri?" I asked myself.

Somemore, with the stress I have on studies, I started to dislike Perth. I described it as Land of Stress instead of Land of Kangaroo.

Years later, I no longer have those kind of feeling. I started to tell people how nice is Perth. I tell them how clean is the environment. I tell them how cheap is the wine. I tell them how friendly is the people. The list goes on.

Maybe because Perth has become my second home (although it's a home without my family). I have my own friends there. I have learnt how to become independent there. I have spent about 4 years of my university there.

Although I have a heavy heart to leave Miri, I still look forward for my final year in Perth (if I plan to come back Miri for good).

Wish me all the best in Perth, guys...

P/s: I'm quite lost in writing this post. If you don't know what I'm trying to say, just ignore it and enjoy the photos.

Kok, I know what it feels like to be torn between two worlds.
I tell you ah...live for today, don't worry what tomorrow will bring. Today has enough trouble of it's own (somewhere in the bible, God tells us).
So, now, I also learn to live day by day and even though I miss my parents and siblings...life goes on lor. I don't think so far ahead.
Once you graduate, you can apply for your PR when you are working in Miri or even maybe KL but until then....eat, sleep, study, sight- see. At your age, you should make the most of the present and be surprised by the future.
OK, ai meme liow beh?

dr ve thru,
Thanks for the advice. I'll always keep it in my mind. As for the PR thingy, I'll consult you when it comes to time, can? I think you are quite expert in this already. hehe.

Meme ah? That one I have to take some time to do it leh. Have to think of something to write for each nominee mah. haha! I'm now applying what you have thought me. I live day by day. So, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow meme, I haven't thought of it yet leh. hahaha! Just joking. I'll write about it soon, k?:)

Kok,
I'm also in a dilemma like you but, from a parent's point of view! To let my daughter go after her dream or tie her to my apron strings? For her future, I'll have to do the former. There will always be mixed feelings as to whether we're making the right decision. Since you're already in your final year, please do carry one and race till the end! Like the saying goes, when you reach the river, then only think on how to cross over it. For now, you need to stay focus and for me to go to sleep!

Judy, don't kachau him with meme lah. Poor boy already so bogged down with his studies and at a lost with his future so, better not add to his problems, for now!

Kok, wah take my advice hor and then now excuse to do meme as and when the day comes. Haha..ok lah. Actually, I did say that if you don't want to do also never mind one.

kok welcome to our world. Being away from home has been one of the hardest thing I had ever done. I hate it but have to keep reminding myself that if I want Fatty Boy to have the education here, I have no choice. If it is any comfort, Australia is not that far, your parents can always visit you.

Kok, know exactly how you feel there. I'm torn between the 2 worlds too. I refused to call nz my home for some time even though I know we probably will not go back to Malaysia.
I still miss my friends, families and a lot of things back home, but now this is my other home. I have started to open up to my new home and embrace it.
Don't worry too much as to what the future may hold for you. Take it on day at a time. Things would be, whatever will be, will be.
All the best to you! :)

sasha: I agree with you that OZ is a good place for retirees. Life there is slow and perfect for retirees. Not to say it's not good for youngster like us lah. Just that, it suits more for retirees. :)

Want mamak stall ah? Can can! We can share the business. haha! But but, wait I work and earn the modal first. If not, I don't have any money to share with you leh. hehe.

yenjai: I haven't made up my mind yet. Maybe you'll only know my decision at the end of this year or maybe early next year. :)

wonda: That's just a small trick only. hehe. If you want, you can download this programme, Adobe Photoshop. CC and I are using the same programme to do all the editting for the photos.
