Fremantle Trip Continue...

Fremantle Trip continued. James wanted to get some Australian's souvenirs at E-shed Market which are much more cheaper compared to other places.

I have no idea where is the E-shed Market. So is Chris. As a navigator of the trip, James told us that it is near Cicerello (place which is famous for it's fish and chips). He led the driver, Chris to Cicerello but hey, where's the E-shed Market? We couldn't even find any place which is similar to the market! James kept on repeating, "I remember it's somewhere here leh...Turn left, turn right". Chris was quite frustrated and asked James to find the exact place.

After few turns and stops, we managed to reach the E-shed Market and that's way too far from the Cicerello. :P

We stopped by the E-shed Market. There's not much to write about the market. I'll just post some photos for the market.

Salon Express. 20 minutes for a hair cut.

The cost for a hair cut.

Any flavours of macadamia nuts.

More nuts.

There's a foodcourt inside the market.

Self service chinese food.

I can hardly find any food stall or restaurant in Perth here which offers self service fast food or in Malaysia, we call it economy rice. Surprisingly, I found one in the market. Of course, one plate of economy rice there is not as cheap as Miri.

Since we did not plan to have our lunch there, we left as soon as we have finished browsing the whole market. We stopped by a fish and chips restaurant, Kaili's, for our lunch break.

Almost full house.

They really sell the finest fish in the sea!

Seafood plater; fish, prawns, chips, squid rings...

Chilli mussels.

James and Chris ordered and shared the chilli mussels and the seafood plater while I had my traditional fish and chips. 2 pieces of fish and plenty of chips made my stomach grow a size bigger. :P

Finished with our food, we went to a 'yacht show' or something like that just outside the restaurant. We can see plenty of yachts parked there for us to look around.

Not everyone can go into the yacht at the same time.

Aud $25 per person for this boat to drives you to the middle of the ocean.

Too expensive for me to get into this boat although I want to try it. Next time, next time. Instead, we tried the free stuff; getting into the yachts.

View from inside the yacht.

People still waiting to go into the Moo Yacht.

I didn't manage to get into the Moo Yacht. Too many people waiting. I think that's one of the best yacht on displayed.

Relac one corner.

Another corner.

Champagne when you can drift successfully with the yacht.

Tired? Take a rest.

Not a couple? Sleep separately lah.

No buy also can take photos, what.

After taking some of the photos in some of the yachts there, we decided to go home. Tired tired. Somemore, it is almost impossible for us to own one of the yachts there. We were told that one of the yachts we went in costed about Aud$2.9 million. And yes, it costs you million of dollars for one of that yacht! I couldn't deny that the yachts there are really luxurious and it would be great for you and your family or even your friends to take a break from outside the world, but don't you think Aud$2.9 million is a bit too expensive? Somemore, if you converted it to Ringgit Malaysia, wahlao! How many houses can you buy at Miri? Jialat....

A very tiring day....

The Little Creatures, a 'must try' beer at Freo.

Fremantle a.k.a. Freo

I have delayed this post for such a long time. Peak time for assignments and projects to due and some more, exams around the corner. Anyway, I'll just break this post into two parts. Too many photos and also too much to share. ;)

Fremantle or well known as Freo, was the first port established in Western Australia. Established in 1829, it is now a 'MUST GO' place for the tourists.

Chris, James and I went to Freo last Sunday. Just to look around. Actually I have been there for a few times. So as James and Chris. Sunday, nothing to do what. Study, study and study? Can become siao (crazy) you know? Fremantle Market is our first destination. The market is not open 24/7. It only opens on Fridays to Sundays and also public holidays.

Opened at 1897.

The markets are divided into two parts. We went to the main markets first. The only requirement before you enter the market.

Smoke outside!

Basically this market is just like the Tamu Muhibbah or Open Market at Miri, Sarawak. The products you can find there includes Honey, Coffee, T-shirts, food and many more.

Packed with people.

Fresh coffee, anyone?

Cheese, I like. But I'm not a cat.

"Kak, sarong, sarong! $8..murah murah!"
(Sis, sarong sarong! $8..cheap cheap!)

We thought there will be more interesting stalls ahead, so we walk through to the other part of the market.

Through to Fruit & Vegies Stalls.

Honey or darling, all sold here.

"Uncle, don't steal the sausage roll."

Here comes the fruits and vegies stalls.

Lots of fresh fruits and vegies are sold there. Grab some when you are around.

Since the only different between the main market and the other part of the market is just the fruits and vegies shop, we decided to make a U-turn. James didn't have his breakfast. So, Chris suggested pancakes for breakfast.

As if they owned the pancake stall.

Two camera sluts with their pancakes.

Me poor poor. So, no pancakes for me. Nah, actually I had my breakfast before I go to Freo. I ended up pancakes-less.

We decided to leave the market after that since James wasted most of the time eating. He eats too slow. If there's a eating competition, I bet he'll get last forever. :P

We went to the city centre after that. Most of the shops are still closed. Most of the shops only open after 12p.m. Nothing to do, we just wondered around.

Parking over there.

Everyone's having breakfast along the street.

"James, Chris! So curious ah?" :P

I have been to Freo for a couple of times but I have never been to the Fremantle Prison. We decided to walk there since all the shops were still closed.

Fremantle Prison.

Admission is not free for the prison. Chris told me there's nothing to see inside the prison, so I didn't bother to spend the money. We just walked around and see the surroundings. In front of the prison, there's a railway for the train and there is a tunnel underneath the prison.

The railway is just like our life. Although it's long, it's not always straight.

The exit of the tunnel.

Behind this prison, there's this beautiful beach. I managed to grab some nice shots of the beach.

Look further. Look wider.

Sea rambutan?

James just escaped from the prison. Not get used to the sun exposure.

Don't play play with the canon.

Enough with the Fremantle Prison, Chris said he wanted to buy something for his sis. So we stopped by the shop he wanted to go. While he's busy with his stuff, James and I went to a more interesting shop.

Kakulas Sister Grocer.

Kakulas Sister is a kind of oriental shop. But the most interesting thing in the shop is, it is full of spices. Curry powder, basil leaves, rosemary leaves etc. Other than that, you can find red beans, barley, macadamia nuts etc. There's another branch of the shop at Northbridge which is called Kakulas Bros.

Inside the shop.

Any curry powder you want, you can find it here.

Barley, barley. Consider quite cheap already.

We bought some green beans and some barley here before we went to the multi-storey carpark to take our car.

I noticed something funny at each level of the multi-storey carpark.

Prawn level.

Ketam level.

Quite strange right? Why don't they named it laksa level, nasi lemak level or kolo mee level? That sounds more interesting. I don't know about the names of other levels as our car was on level 2. I would like to check it out when I go there some other time.

After we took our car, James suggested to go E-Shed Market which he claimed to be somewhere near Cicerello. That would be the next part of the trip.

Sick...

Wah wah! I'm sick! Yesterday I had a sorethroat and a bit of fever. And this morning, I felt very tired. Couldn't even concentrate in the lectures. Went back home and straight away fainted for about 3 hours. Still feeling sick now. Maybe too much fried food. Hopefully can get well soon. Loads of assignments and projects awaiting. And some more, exams coming soon! Cannot afford to sick now. Someone sponsors me birdnest or sharkfin please! I need those for my health! ;)

Amazing Toilet

The public toilet at a multi storey carpark at Fremantle is kinda high-tech.

Give it a try!

Everything is at your fingertip.

This high tech public toilet is designed for your comfort and safety which is mentioned on a wall beside it. Everything is at your fingertip. From opening the door to washing your hands, you just need to push a button and that's it! Furthermore, after you have used the toilet, there is no need for you to flush the toilet. It will automatically flush when you are washing your hands (means you have finished using the toilet).

One thing weird about this toilet.

10 minutes time limit.

There's a time limit for the users! The door will automatically open after 10 minutes. I understand that it is a public toilet and the users shouldn't take a long time to use the toilet since others might be waiting. But what if you have a stomache and still making your fresh chocolate cake and the toilet door automatically open. Wow! That will be an unforgetable memory for you!

Two Caucasians pushed the button for the door to open but they went off without using it. Curious I guess?

It might not be the most high-tech toilet which you have ever seen but it is one extra ordinary toilet that I have ever used.

Burswood International Resort Casino

I have never been to any casino before until last Saturday. I have no idea how a casino looks like and the only image I have for a casino is during the time when I watched this movie ages ago.

God of Gambler 2.

Last Saturday, James asked me to follow him to Burswood International Resort Casino, Perth and since I'm quite curious, I agreed. So, James, Henry and I went Burswood after our dinner at home.

James before the mission impossible.

After a 10 to 15 minutes drive, we arrived Burswood.

Welcome to Burswood.

Burswood International Resort Casino main building.

"People mountain people sea" (means lots of people in chinese). We could hardly find any parking space. It took us quite some time to do so.

Burswood, here we come! Front door of the casino.

No cameras are to be brought inside. So, this is the only photo I have for the casino. Wow, I don't know there are lots of gamblers inside. Most of the people want to try their luck while some of them are just like me, looking around and not gambling. The casino offers free membership and since it's free, I joined without thinking twice.

This is what I got upon joining their membership.

Upon joining their membership, I am given a booklet of voucher which contains a voucher for you to claim 2 Aud$1 coins, a voucher which entitles you to claim $5 when you play any games in the casino, a double pass to their nightclub and a voucher which entitles you to claim a welcome back to Burswood Pack containing more vouchers to play the games for free when you go back to the casino within 2 weeks of becoming their member. Free money is just a bait to catch a bigger fish. ;)

They also provided me a member card. This card can be used to earn points when you play any games and can be later exchanged for cash. Aparts from that, this card can be used in their vending machines to get hot drinks which I used it for hot chocolate and coffee for the entire night.

Other than that, they just gave me a booklet of their news and also a booklet which includes some terms and conditions of their membership.

They were loads of people in the casino. James started off with Black Jack for his mission impossible. He failed his mission. I was quite shocked with the guy sitting beside him. He lost about Aud$1000+ in less than half an hour!

We went to watch a soccer match in a room after that. Packed with people, we managed to get a place to watch the match between Manchester United and Chelsea which Manchester United lost 3 to nil. Chelsea claimed the English Premiership title for the win.

James tried his luck with the roullette. Not bad with it, he got his modal back which he lost earlier. Those uncles and aunties bet all over the table. I wonder how they got so much money to bet. Curious curious. We left after 2 hours with the roullette.

**Sorry for all the words. No photos are to be taken inside the casino. So, all I can do is to describe with words.

Finished with the casino, we went to the hotel, which is just inside the same building as the casino, for couple of photos.

Intercontinental Burswood Resort, a really high class hotel.

The design is simply marvellous.

This is one of the best hotel I have ever been. Too bad, no money to spend a night there. Have to wait James to become God of Gambler so that he can sponsor me that.

A dining room? A restaurant?

At the lobby, there is this room which can only occupies one family for meal at a time. That's weird.

A florist at the hotel's lobby.

Time to go home! We headed towards the carpark.

Passed the nightclub, The Ruby Room.

Although I didn't gamble at the casino, I'm still one of the winner of the night. I got Aud$2 and some hot drinks which cost Aud$1 per cup!

Anyway, a night with new experience!:)
