Home Cooked Fried Kueh Tiaw

There's a food stall nearby my dad's office at Krokop Road. Located inside a workshop area, it is maintained by two sisters and one brother.

The two ladies are two out of three of the stall proprietors.

It is just a very small and simple stall which sells noodles, bee hoon and kueh tiaw to the workers nearby. Although it is opened from morning till evening, I think they only cook in the evening. Other times, they only provide ta pao (take away).

Only few tables.

They have their noodles, bee hoon and kueh tiaw cooked in either dry or soup or even fried. I personally prefer their fried kueh tiaw wet.

Fried kueh tiaw wet.

This stall's fried kueh tiaw is more towards the home cooked type. The kueh tiaw is first fried with vege. After that, the sauce, which is cooked separately, is poured on top of the kueh tiaw. Finally, slices of char siew and fish cakes topped the kueh tiaw.

A closer look...

Does it taste good? I like the strong wok hei as well as the thick sauce. Apart from that, the char siew and the fish cakes came in a generous amount which is a good thing. Other than that, it's just a plate of normal fried kueh tiaw wet which costs RM3.20.

P/s: I ta pao-ed the fried kueh tiaw back home and thus, a better looking plate.

Liddat also can! In a workshop! So simply furnished... but as long as the food is good and the environment not too dirty... okay lah!
*sits down, takes a pair of chopsticks, tuck in*

Kok!
You don't allow me to come to your wedding!? You know I'll gatecrash! That shows how important you are to me. hehe....

kenny: RM3.20 still cheap meh? Last time I can get this for RM2.50 leh.

jane: Is it? I don't know bout that. Seldome eat their kolo mee, or should I say, never. haha! You can always eat there when you're back. :)

ecl: Haha! Actually, the best food does not serve in the best looking restaurant. I like my food in the market which is kinda dirty. haha!

Wah wah, I'm so important to ecl? So honoured! Well, don't say wedding first lah, girlfriend also doesn't have one. haha!

Ermm...there's someone "kacau-ing" her blog. So, she just temporary closed it.

sweetjasmine: Oppssss! Hahaha! I seldom cook here at home. I cooked when I was in Australia. You can find some of my Wok With Kok posts in this blog. :)

Hi Kok! Long time no talk,eh? So are you ever coming back to Perth? What are you up to now besides tar pao-ing Char Kueh Teow? Ha!Ha! I think $3.50 is expensive too, especially for that kinda environment. But I guess Food prices have sky rocketed around the globe, huh?, Malaysia included. Living in Perth has become very expensive. Food and Vege prices have made my jaw drop like nobody's business! Anyway, I'm just looking forward to eating in KL in the next couple of days, must take revenge, because the other day I paid $10 for a extra small serve of Char Kueh Teow in Tak Chee! I'll sooner master the art than go back there! either that or go to Penang Food down the road and pay $8.50 for a serve double the size! Must have contingency plan mah, right or not?

Take care, Buddy!

Carol: Ya, long time no talk to you. Tak Chee? Never try that before. I think you can go to Tin Tin at Vic Park for their Fried Kueh Tiaw. My friend said it's nice but I think it's just so so. For me, there's no nice Fried Kueh Tiaw in Perth. You still have to come back to Malaysia for a great plate. hehe.

Oh, I think Perth now has grown to a high cost living city because of the mining boom. Everything is so much expensive now in Perth especially their property. *Sigh* I miss the good ol' Perth.

You take care too, Carol. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!:)

wmw: Frankly, I seldom or never eat there. Haha! I think my Baba just don't like it there. :P

dancing queen: Looks good meh? It's just opposite Toyota. You know there's a small lane which leads you to the roti canai stall? It's on the right.

True true. Quite expensive in that environment. But that place, is the nearest to our house liao. haha! We normally ta-pao. Seldom or never eat there.

joe: I want your BKT more than this CKT. Hahaha!

sasha: Hah? Never meh? Oklah, you come Miri. I belanja you!:)

mim: Yea, quite expensive. But then, the environment is not that dirty though. I can't smell any diesel perfume though.

Oh, you like Seng Guan? haha! Seems like a lot of people like there. Any other places that I blogged and you've tried?

ecl: I shared liao. hahahaha!

Wah, you had supper? I thought you have to jaga badan so it won't grow sideway? haha!

Don't know oh. I think that guy must be eat full nothing to do. Just go around blog and blast.

ilene: Is it? I don't know where my mum bought the plate though. hehe. Cheap meh? See? Lots of comments indicated that it's expensive leh.

Thank you! It just came out of my mind. So, simply do lah. If you have any idea and wants a banner, let me know so I can make one for you too. :)
